Stories behind the ideas

Why I'm Building This

A monthly gathering centered on the stories behind what people are building. It is free, open to the public, and each month there is a new presenter talking about their business

What to expect

Building something is hard. We believe it's easier, and more meaningful, when it's done in community. This space is about showing up for each other, sharing what we're learning, and helping one another move forward.

Being a presenter

Presentations are informal and typically last around 10-15 minutes followed by an open conversation with the room.
This isn't a polished pitch or a sales presentation. It's not about having it all figured out. We're more interested in the story, the questions, and the work in progress.

Attending an event

There are no expectation for attendees, you can be as involved as you want to be. You are welcome to ask questions, share your perspective, and converse with others in the room.
We encourage you to form connections at the event and then take the conversations further outside.

Founders of A-MART
For a lot of people in Helena, getting authentic Asian pantry staples means a 6+ hour drive to Spokane, Seattle, or Salt Lake. That’s been the reality for years, including for Emma, who grew up in Bangkok.
They’re building a late-night, walkable convenience shop in downtown Helena stocked with essential Asian groceries, snacks, and the everyday things you don’t think about until you need them. The kind of place you can swing by at night and grab what you’re missing without planning a full trip out of town.

Learn More
Montana Snack Works is a family-owned business, founded and operated right here in Helena by the Ridle family. We started with one simple idea: providing great snacks and drinks at work shouldn't be complicated. Local businesses deserve modern, reliable vending solutions that just work for their teams and their customers.
We saw a need for reliable, modern, and clean vending services in the local area. Many businesses were stuck with outdated machines or unreliable restocking schedules. We decided to change that.
We provide a true white-glove vending experience. We handle the heavy lifting, the maintenance, and the inventory at zero cost to you
