Stories behind the ideas

Why I'm Building This

A monthly gathering centered on the stories behind what people are building. It is free, open to the public, and each month there is a new presenter talking about their business

What to expect

Building something is hard. We believe it's easier, and more meaningful, when it's done in community. This space is about showing up for each other, sharing what we're learning, and helping one another move forward.

Being a presenter

Presentations are informal and typically last around 10-15 minutes followed by an open conversation with the room.
This isn't a polished pitch or a sales presentation. It's not about having it all figured out. We're more interested in the story, the questions, and the work in progress.

Attending an event

There are no expectation for attendees, you can be as involved as you want to be. You are welcome to ask questions, share your perspective, and converse with others in the room.
We encourage you to form connections at the event and then take the conversations further outside.

Not Every Mom
We grow up hearing that moms are supposed to be safe. Supportive. Unconditionally loving.
But for a lot of people, that isn’t their story.
Not Every Mom exists to support people who have experienced damaging or toxic maternal relationships. It’s a reality that’s often minimized or dismissed, leaving people wondering if they’re the problem. Through community, compassionate support, and thoughtfully curated resources, Not Every Mom reminds people they’re not alone, and that their experiences are real.

The Mill
Designed to bring people together while lifting up local entrepreneurs, I'm building a space that Helena has been missing. The Mill is a retail incubator in the front and an intimate event venue in the back. Its mixed use space allows you to host a birthday celebration, a corporate gathering, a pop-up shop, a community event, and SO much more - without the hassle.

For a lot of people in Helena, getting authentic Asian pantry staples means a 6+ hour drive to Spokane, Seattle, or Salt Lake. That’s been the reality for years, including for Emma, who grew up in Bangkok.
They’re building a late-night, walkable convenience shop in downtown Helena stocked with essential Asian groceries, snacks, and the everyday things you don’t think about until you need them. The kind of place you can swing by at night and grab what you’re missing without planning a full trip out of town.
